Flashback Friday

I love Fall and Halloween. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I made these Halloween cards for a swap with some friends last Fall.

The little witch image is from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set.

The ribbon is ribbon that I had. If I were making this today I'd use Scallop Dots Ribbon.

I stamped her on Whisper White and colored her with colored pencils. (I LOVE to use colored pencils.)

In the first card I punched out the image with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch. Then cut a 3" circle out of Basic Black card stock. After mounting the image I used the Paper Piercer and the Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce around the circle. I liked the rougher look of the backside and used that.

In the second card, after punching out the image with the 1 3/4" punch, I mounted the image on Pumpkin Pie card stock and trimmed to make the mat. I matted Halloween paper on Basic Black card stock. I'm thinking of making this card again using  Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper from the new Holiday catalog.

Mommy's Little Farmer

My baby girl turns 27 this weekend, so when trying to decide what to scrapbook, naturally she came to mind. These photos were taken when she was about 3 months old. I just love the look on her face, blowing bubbles and laughing. Such sweet memories that are now safely stored in my scrapbook.

Supplies:

DSP – Twitterpated

Whisper White card stock

Night of Navy card stock

Old Olive card stock

Real Red card stock

Real Red ink

Everything Eleanor

2 3/8 Scallop Circle punch

2 1/2 inch circle punch

Large Oval punch

Floral Frames Framelits

Big Shot

Snail Adhesive

Directions:

• Photos on the right are 3 x 5
• Small photo in the left lower corner is 3 x 3
• Mount photos on Real Red matting as a whole strip. Should measure approx. -----
• Night of Navy in lower corner is 3 ½ x 6 
• Mount Night of Navy matting.
• Mount Real Red matting – the lower edge should be just a bit above the Night of Navy, so that the navy shows
• Mat 3x3 photo on Real Red and mount on Night of Navy.
• Run largest flower from Floral Frames framelits through the Big Shot using Night of Navy card stock.
• Using Old Olive card stock, hand draw stem and cut out. (Tip: trace around the curved edge of a plate for the shape)
• Punch out 2 "leaves" from Old Olive with the Large Oval punch, trimming the end by hand for a more leaf like shape.
• Stamp lined label image from Everything Eleanor set in Real Red
• Punch out lined label with 2 3/8 Scallop Circle punch.
• Using 2 1/2 inch circle punch on Real Red card stock, punch circle.
• Mount scallop circle on to Real Red circle mat.
• Mount Real Red mat on to Night of Navy flower.
• Adhere to corner of paper and trim off excess.

Male card with Open Sea stamp set 

This was the card I made for my hubby for Father’s Day. Masculine cards can be very difficult to create and I’m sure like most of you, I’m always on the look-out for new ideas.

To make a card that looks like mine, you’ll need the following supplies. Remember, if you need any of these supplies, just click on the name of the item and it will take you directly to my shop.

Supplies:

The Open Sea stamp set

EarlyEspresso ink

EarlyEspresso card stock

Naturals Ivory card stock 

AntiqueBrass Brads

2½” Circle punch

1¾” Circle punch

1¼” Circle punch

1 ½” Circle punch (I happened to have a circle punch this size. If you don’t just use the compass image as your guide and cut by hand.)

PaperPiercer

Sponge dauber

Snail adhesive

Dimensionals

Directions: 

• Base of card is Early Espresso card stock in standard card size.
• Naturals Ivory card stock mat cut at 4 x 5 ¼.
• Randomly stamp globe image using Early Espresso ink.
• Adhere globe background to card base.
• Using Early Espresso ink, stamp ledger on a piece of Naturals Ivory card stock twice.
• Trim Naturals Ivory card stock to size of image and ink edges.
• Cut Early Espresso card stock 2 5/8” x 5 ¼” as a mat for the ledger piece.
• Rip and ink bottom edge of Early Espresso card stock.
• Rip bottom edge of ledger piece and ink ripped edge.
• Wrinkle ledger piece and ink the creases.
• Mount ledger piece onto Early Espresso card stock.
• Using scraps of Naturals Ivory stamp the ship and the compass both in Early Espresso ink.
• Punch the ship out with the 1 ¾” circle punch.
• Punch out the compass with the 1 ¼” circle punch.
• Ink edges with Early Espresso ink.
• Punch out 2 ½” circle from Early Espresso card stock.
• Mount ship on 2 ½” circle using dimensionals.
• Using paper piercer, pierce 5 evenly spaced holes for brads around the ship in the Early Espresso card stock.
• Insert Antique Brass brads.
• Pierce hole in center of compass and attach Antique Brass brad.
• Mount compass on 1 ½” circle of Early Espresso card stock.
• Adhere ledger piece at an angel to globe background.
• Adhere compass piece in upper right hand corner.
• Adhere ship piece with dimensional on top of ledger piece.

Sponged Sunset

Today's card is pretty simple & straight forward. 

I punched a circle out of a large post-it note using the 2 1/2" circle punch.

Placing the hole from the circle in the center of the Whisper White card stock, I started sponging inside the circle opening. 

Sponge from light colors to dark colors. Remember you can always add more to make a color darker but you can't take away to make it lighter.

Once I was happy with the colors I removed the Post-It Note and stamped the image in Basic Black ink.

When I was sure it was all dry, I mounted the Whisper White on to Cajun Craze.

Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper card

Today's card is made mostly from one Designer Series Paper pack with a few accentuating card stock colors thrown in.

Supplies:
Berry Blossoms DSP
Calypso Coral card stock
Whisper White card stock
Modern Label Punch
2 1/2" Circle Punch
1 3/4 Circle Punch
White ribbon
Antique Brads
Beautiful Butterflies Die
Big Shot
Corner rounder
Dimensionals
Basic Black Ink
Basic Gray Ink
Sponge Dauber
Snail Adhesive 
Upsy Daisy stamp set sentiment

• This is a tent style card - cut @ 4 1/4" x 11, folded at 5 1/2".
• All pieces are inked with Basic Black ink.
• The red banner piece is cut @ 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" with a notch out of the center bottom.
• Whisper White circle is punched from the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.
• Calypso Coral circle is punched from the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.
• White ribbon is cut with ends at an angel to mimic the angels on the red banner piece.
• Attach the ribbon to the back of the Whisper White circle and adhere to red banner piece with dimensionals.
• Run DSP through Big Shot using Beautiful Butterflies Die. 
• Attach Antique Brad to center of butterfly and attach butterfly with dimensionals.
• Cut strip of Calypso Coral 3/4" x 2 1/2" and notch ends.
• Stamp sentiment with Basic Gray ink on Whisper White.
• Punch out sentiment with Modern Label Punch and adhere to notched Calypso Coral.
• Attach to card across ribbon.
• Round bottom corners. I used a corner 1/2" corner rounder but I've listed the one that is available from Stampin' Up for you.
