A few more cards from the last few months

Still trying to play catch up  with things I created during my long blogging absence.
Here are a few more cards to hopefully spark your creative side.

This is the anniversary card I created for my daughter & her hubby's 2nd anniversary. The card base is Riding Hood Red. The white piece was cut using Tim Holtz Alterations die "Brackets" and then embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder by Stampin' Up!. The die cut pieces were all cut using various sized of the Labels Collections framelits by Stampin' Up! The flower image is by Penny Black and I believe that's one I picked up at Hobby Lobby. It was inked using Stampin' Up! markers in Riding Hood Red and Old Olive. The edges of the white die cut layers were inked very lightly with Riding Hood Red. The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! set: Whimsical Words (Sale-a-bration set from 2012) and is accented using 3 black adhesive rhinestones. The ribbon is by Stampin' Up! also.

Another birthday card! The card base was embossed with Stampin' Up!'s Hound's Tooth embossing folder. The ribbon is by Stampin' Up! and is in Raspberry Ripple - one of the "in colors" for 2012 - 2014. The images are all from the Stampin' Up! set Everything Eleanor. The label was stamped in Basic Gray ink and cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits while the flowers were stamped in Raspberry Ripple and hand cut. The label was popped up using dimensionals and the flower centers are the large pearls from Stampin' Up!.

Here's the birthday card I made for my sister back in January. The card base was in Riding Hood Red (what is it with me and red card bases lately?). It's embossed using Stampin' Up!'s Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The layers were cut using the Labels Collection Framelits by Stampin' Up! The image layer was from Naturals card stock and the layer was lightly inked using Basic Gray ink and a touch of Crumb Cake ink. Southern Splendor image (lady in hat) by Stampabilities. Background stamps by Stampin' Up!: French foliage - writing, droplets & postmark. Happy Birthday by Stampin' Up!, Elementary Elegance (sale-a-brations 2012). All images were stamped using Basic Gray ink.

Triple Time Stamping

Hi Stampers!

I've been seeing these great cards all over the internet. I was so intrigued and I went in search of how to make one for myself. I watched a great video by Frenchie Stamps  and figured out how. OH MY GOODNESS is this fun! I will admit to being a bit intimated at first, but once the first card was made ... the rest was history. Unfortunately I've needed too many sympathy cards this year and needed to make yet another one. Thankfully this method is wonderful for so many occasions that require cards. I'm looking forward to play around with this technique. Stay tuned for the results in the coming weeks. But for now ... here's the info.

To make a card that looks like mine, you’ll need the following supplies. Remember, if you need any of these supplies, just click on the name of the item and it will take you directly to my shop.

Supplies:
Sentiment stamps are from various Stampin' Up! sets that are retired.

Cut paper sizes:
White paper -
4 x 5 1/4 (you need 2, one for inside and one for the outside)
3 x 4 1/4
2 x 3 1/4

Colored mats -
5 1/2 x 8 1/2 - fold in half ... this is your card base
3 1/4 x 4 1/2
2 1/4 x 3 1/2

For the how to - watch Frenchie's video.

I'll be making some videos of my own soon. Another reason to stay tuned.

Sympathy card in Night of Navy

I needed several sympathy cards last week. I wanted something elegant, but not cluttered. Here's what I created.

To make a card that looks like mine, you’ll need the following supplies. Remember, if you need any of these supplies, just click on the name of the item and it will take you directly to my shop.

Supplies:

Directions:

  • Night of Navy card base is standard size.
  • Naturals Ivory mat is 4 x 5 1/4.
  • Ink En Francais stamp in Crumb Cake ink and gently wipe dab off some of the ink so image is light.
  • Stamp En Francais on to Naturals Ivory mat.
  • Stamp blossom from Everything Eleanor stamp set in Night of Navy - stamp off on a piece of scrap paper first ... remember we want these images to be light.
  • Stamp flourish from Everything Eleanor stamp set in Night of Navy - DO NOT stamp off this image. This is one image we want to stand out.
  • Adhere mat to card base.
  • Using the Boho Blossom punch, punch out 5 small blossoms from Night of Navy.
  • Cup each blossom in the palm of your hand, one by one.
  • Taking a pen with a rounded cap, gently push capped pen in the center of the flower in a round motion. This will make the blossom stand up more and cup the pearl.
  • Adhere blossoms to the image with glue dots.
  • Adhere pearls.
  • stamp sentiment of choice inside
