Autumn in the Air

Our August stamp class focused on Autumn stamping. My lovely ladies in attendance learned several new techniques & tricks  and we had a great time - as usual. If you haven't attended one of my classes, clear some time to try one. We always have fun and there's always plenty of laughter.

Fast Card Friday - Pursuit of Happiness

Still thinking about the Founding Fathers. It was a novel idea to include the pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence. Studies have shown that measuring one's own happiness is a uniquely American (North American, for my Canadian friends - you guys do this too). So during this week of celebrating America --- here's a card that speaks to the pursuit of happiness.

Supplies:

Soft Suede card stock
Bashful Blue card stock
Whisper White card stock
Square Lattice embossing folder
Labels Collection framelits
Big Shot
Pursuit of Happiness stamp set
Soft Suede ink
 Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon
Sponge Dauber

Directions:

• Card base is standard size
• Bashful Blue mat is 3 x 4.
• Run the Bashful Blue mat through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.
• Stamp sentiment on Whisper White using Soft Suede ink.
• Using the 3 die from the center of the Labels Collection framelits, cut out the sentiment using the Big Shot, being sure that the sentiment is centered in the framelit.
• Ink edges using Soft Suede ink
• Adhere sentiment to  mat. 
• Cut a length of Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon, attaching it to the mat.
• Cut a smaller length of Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon, tie into a knot and attach to ribbon base using a glue dot.
• Attach mat to card base.

*you may wish to secure the ribbon in the front with several glue dots placed along the length of the ribbon since the weight of the knot may move the ribbon*

By The Seashore

It's HOT! No, I mean realllllllllllllly hot - like melt your skin off hot. I live in Oklahoma. Last summer was the hottest on record ... ever. I'm praying that we're not having a repeat of last year's temps. I'm wishing I was at the seashore. Today's card is meant to ease those heat induced blues and take you to cool ocean breezes.

To make a card that looks like mine, you’ll need the following supplies. Remember, if you need any of these supplies, just click on the name of the item and it will take you directly to my shop.

Supplies:

Whisper White card stock

Soft Suede card stock

Bashful Blue card stock 

By the Seashore stamp set

Soft Suede ink

Soft Suede Taffeta ribbon

Square Lattice embossing folder

Big Shot

Corner Rounder

Snail adhesive

Sponge dauber

Directions:

Card base measures: 4 x 6 

Bashful Blue mat measures: 3 x 5 3/8

Whisper White squares measure: 1 3/4 x 1 3/4

• Emboss Bashful Blue mat with Square Lattice embossing folder
• Round Corners of Bashful Blue mat and Soft Suede card base
• Mount to Bashful Blue mat to card base
• Stamp Whisper White squares using Soft Suede ink and By the Seashore stamp set.
• Round corners on stamped squares
• Ink edges using Soft Suede
• Mount stamped squares on to mat
• Attach Soft Suede ribbon
